Your Guided Journey Outside the Box.

The year-long, no cost, fully virtual WAABEL Residency moves through guided exploration toward tangible, strategic action and beyond. Our model is at once nimble and structured to give artists space and support to reflect, question, and grow in our time together. This personal adventure occurs in synergy with a collaborative cohort that builds community, reinforces accountability, and produces an original exhibition celebrating our program achievements.

Beginning in 2025, the WAABEL Residency will pivot toward Business Planning in the Arts.

FOUNDATIONS

The Foundations Section, through a series of conversations, establishes the basis for your plans and sets up success in the Artist-In-Residence program. We discuss a range of topics from artistic purpose, fulfillment, personal origin story, your WHY, core principles, vision, and scale.

Our exploration balances open conversation with focused, pointed questions meant to guide meaningful discussion into tangible outcomes. Our visioning exercises will push you to think bigger. We emerge from Foundations with a clear path forward.

MARKET ANALYSIS

Market Analysis guides you through the creation of a research plan and tangible market analysis to build your understanding of target audience, competitors and potential partners. A substantive portion of this section focuses on Go To Market strategy.

8 weeks

FINANCIAL PLANNING

Financial Planning will take you through the process of building a comprehensive budget framework for the first five years of your business. We cover expenses and revenues, and also practice articulating the narrative of your business as told through its finances.

BUSINESS PITCH

Our final section will build your capacity to sell your business idea through an effective pitch. We practice cultivating a style that allows you to enter the marketplace with confidence and authenticity. The Residency culminates in a business pitch presentation with a real world forum of your peers.
